PREPARING FOR INFANT BAPTISM
Congratulations! Mother of Divine Providence Parish rejoices with you at the birth or future birth of your child. We want to help make this celebration of Baptism a joyful and faith filled experience. The celebration of Baptism is the first step in the Catholic Faith for your child. This celebration is shared by your family, friends, the parish and the entire Christian Community – the Church. Together we welcome a new member into the Church, and we promise our prayerful support and encouragement.
Steps to Prepare for Baptism:
1) Registration in the parish
2) Parents’ Meeting for first time parents
3) Choosing Godparents
4) Scheduling the Baptism
Pre-Jordan class is for first time parents. This class is held on the second Wednesday of the month from 7:30 to 8:30 P.M. We require that both parents attend. Godparents are welcome but it is not necessary that they attend.
Our Baptisms are celebrated on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month at 12:00 P.M. Families are asked to arrive at 11:30 P.M. on the day of the Baptism.
