Bereavement

Bereavement Ministry at MDP

Bereavement is a term used for the grieving process one goes through when loosing a loved one.  We at MDP want to support you as you go through the loss of a loved one, whether it be a spouse, extended family member, friend, or child.  If you would like to be part of this Grief Support group, please contact Claire in the office via email or calling us.

All Souls Day Mass of Remembrance

Annually on All Souls’ Day, MDP offers a special Mass for the repose of the souls of all who were buried from MDP in the past year.  Families of the deceased are invited to attend and to commemorate their loved one during the Mass.

Grief Support

We also offer a Grief Support group, which meets monthly to help those who are dealing with loss to help cope with their grief and find support from one another.  Check under News and Events for upcoming dates.

Prenatal Loss

If you have lost a baby through miscarriage or still birth, you may wonder what rites or prayers the Church can offer your family.  We are here for you during this extremely difficult grieving process.  If you are interested in a funeral or memorial Mass, the Naming and Commendation Rite, or the Blessing of Parents after a Miscarriage, please contact Jenna in the office via email or calling us.
