The Mother of Divine Providence Christmas Craft Fair & Bazaar is held annually on the 3rd Saturday of November.  It provides the community with an opportunity to come together for fellowship and fun, while getting a jump start on their Christmas shopping.  This parish affair is the longest running of any other MDP event spanning back, over 50 years, to the days of our founding pastor, Fr. McGrory.  Back then, the bazaar was a weekend long celebration beginning on Friday and culminating with Breakfast with Santa on Sunday morning.  About 20 years ago the bazaar took a hiatus for a few years and returned in 2001 as a one day parish event.

Over 100 spaces are sold throughout the school and Providence Hall to crafters who covet the opportunity to participate in this craft fair.   They relish the opportunity to display and sell their “handmade-only” items in a venue that limits the number of each type of craft to maintain a varied show.  This event is a true spectacle of talent and artisanship that has consistently drawn over 1000 shoppers through the doors during the 6 hours it runs.

Not to be overshadowed by the beautiful crafts, the bazaar committee takes pride in organizing other attractions and booths for visitors.  To promote community building within our parish, all MDP groups are invited to assist in some way, whether to organize a booth or volunteer.  There is the café which offers an extensive array of homemade baked goods, an Attic Treasures booth, a tombola raffle and other attractions.

All are welcome to participate by shopping, eating and partaking in the spirit of the bazaar, as well as joining the diverse committee which works hard and laughs a lot while planning.  Our group is comprised of both the young and old,  school parents and PREP parents, married folks and singles.  We are a true testament to the entire parish!  Reference the weekly parish bulletin for contact information if you are interested in joining.
