As we continue to celebrate the Year of Faith here at Mother of Divine Providence Parish, it does not seem possible that it will end in November. There have been many spiritual surprises given to us during these months. This month of September has been dedicated to the treasure that we have in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Father Cioppi has been preaching on the need for forgiveness and he has been praying the Mass of Reconciliation on Wednesday and Friday each week this month. He has also been available for confession from 7:30 to 7:50 A.M. on those days. How many of us have taken advantage of this sacrament — how wonderful it is that God’s mercy is so available to us — all the time. This Year of Faith has helped us learn more deeply, in faith, who we are. The Door of Faith has been before us everyday in our church — we have waled through it in Faith. The candle in the corner flickers to remind us of that gift. Did you notice the ribbon below it? There is a scripture notation on the ribbon. Did you ever take the time to see what that message is for you — for all of us? It tells us who we are and what we need to be for God’s people. Why not check it out? Let us take every opportunity available to us during these next 2 months to help strengthen our faith and support others in that same endeavor.
